The work of Rich DeSilvo (see FRIDAY, 2 MAY 2008 post) reminded me of an album I had in the 80's called Borrowed Time by a heavy metal band called Diamond Head.
I always thought the artwork a little daft, so I redesigned it for them using a cute picture Steve Bliss posted on Facebook.

Cake is the corner stone of the studio, without it our teeth would fall out and we would go blind. With this in mind we have decided to sample the range of cakes on sale in the immediate area, yesterdays cake was the delightful Sticky Toffee Cake which seems to be made from spit and hair and tastes allot like sugar and salt, it was actually quite nice with a cup of tea and scored an admirable 6 out of 10 .

All that scrolling crap on TV

Two great clips from Lewis Black on all the clutter on TV screens these days. Sometimes I enjoy this information density, but not whilst watching a movie or series. It totally detracts from the drama carefully crafted by the actors and directors, by slapping a huge animated banner extolling the virtues of some totally unrelated show not starting for another 2 weeks.

"Your job is to tell stories, it's not to tell us in the middle of the story what show is coming on next or which one is premiering two weeks from now! What do you want me to do, stop and get a pencil and write it down? Do you want me to stop watching and prepare myself for the next show?"

Sunday I spent most of the day watching the Sopranos but by late afternoon I was riddled with guilt so I went for a walk in Hyde park and discovered a monument to John Hanning Speke an explorer from the 1800's who discovered the source of the Nile. Unfortunately he died in a shooting accident by his own gun but managed to live quite a life up until his untimely demise. Link

We called Pizza Hut in hackney to get them to deliver some of there world famous food for Lunch. As you can see it was rubbish with Neil being particularly displeased with his choice of toppings. This photo was taken on the same day a record amount of rain fell in London I was supposed to go to the country side with my sister but we couldn't leave because the city was grid locked, it was the first time we had ever driven any where together.

Me and Oscar had the good fortune of bumping into the lovely Jon Burgerman as he was fleeing from Designersblock: Illustrate last night. Before embarking on the long journey back to idylic Norwich, he gave us these charming stickers.
